Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Rebooting food: Finding New Ways to Feed the Future (Reuters)

Reuters published a feature on innovative ways to produce food by overcoming threats posed by climate change and water scarcity to meet demand in the future. The article interviewed IFPRI’s Director General Shenggen Fan who said innovations are key to rebooting the food system. “Innvoations in policies, innovations in institutions, innovations in even new thinking, open-mindedness, will be important,” said Fan in the article.
