Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

IFPRI’s Director General will participate in the UNCTAD World Investment Forum — the pre-eminent global platform for investment and development. The Forum devises strategies and solutions for global investment and development challenges. It facilitates multi-stakeholder collective action to stimulate investment in development.

The Forum was set up to fill the investment institutional gap in the international economic governance architecture. Since its inception, it has served as the leading forum to leverage investment policy for sustainable development. Organized under the overall theme “Investment in Sustainable Development”. The Forum will address global challenges for international investment in the new era of globalization and industrialization. Investment stakeholders will gather to brainstorm solution-oriented initiatives and build global partnerships to advance prosperity for all.
