Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Building on successful collaborations and lessons learned from impact evaluation projects, the Egyptian Food Bank’s (EFB) Growth Lab, IFPRI, and Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD) are jointly launching a seminar series: “Bridging Evidence and Policy (BEP)”, covering various topics relevant to informing public policy through research and impact evaluation. The launch event “Impact Evaluation of Social Protection Programs” addresses venues through which impact evaluation informs policymaking with a focus on social protection programs in Egypt, bringing officials, researchers, implementers, and NGOs together to share major findings and options for the future.
