Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

African food and agricultural entrepreneurs count on leveraging US partners and resources to accelerate and improve access to healthy and cost-effective foods that promote well-being in an equitable way. As we build partnerships, together, we can make progress that will ensure a healthier, more prosperous future.

In this roundtable, we will reflect on the broader context of food systems transformation, emphasizing the importance of partnerships, learning, and actionable insights in addressing food insecurity and climate resilience in Africa. The goal is to foster a cohesive and action-oriented dialogue that enhances the agri-food systems in Africa, including innovative business models, partnerships and scalable technologies.
